California Wool Growers Association (CWGA) is a non-profit trade association, formed in 1860.
CWGA is the voice of the California sheep industry, delivering lasting value to support and grow all segments of the California sheep industry through advocacy, education, and investment in markets and infrastructure.
CWGA represents more than 500 sheep producers including farm-flock, large commercial operations, lamb feeders, seedstock producers, club/show lamb producers, producers of wool/fiber, goat producers, and industry stakeholders.
The driving force of CWGA is its members — ranching families throughout California who raise sheep and goats. CWGA is a member-led and driven organization who work on behalf of the California sheep industry.
CWGA’s funding is generated almost entirely by voluntary dues paid by members, who in turn determine the direction and policy of the organization.
CWGA relies on the volunteer leadership of a board of directors, committee chairpersons, and members to implement the objectives, policies and programs of the Association.
On behalf of its membership, CWGA continually works to improve and support the California Sheep industry.
