UCCE Shepherd Skills Workshop Pasture Lambing School

The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) has set dates for the 2019 Shepherd Skills Workshops. Now in its SIXTH year, this workshop series provides hands-on learning opportunities for new and aspiring sheep producers. Led by UCCE livestock and natural resources advisor and sheep producer Dan Macon, as well as other local sheep producers, the workshops will cover a range of sheep management topics, including nutrition, reproduction and grazing management.

This hands-on workshop will cover pasture lambing management, including ewe and lamb nutrition, lambing problems, record-keeping, and predator protection. Come prepared to handle and process new lambs! Rain or shine!
