UCCE Shepherd Skills Workshop The Business of Targeted Grazing

The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) has set dates for the 2019 Shepherd Skills Workshops. Now in its SIXTH year, this workshop series provides hands-on learning opportunities for new and aspiring sheep producers. Led by UCCE livestock and natural resources advisor and sheep producer Dan Macon, as well as other local sheep producers, the workshops will cover a range of sheep management topics, including nutrition, reproduction and grazing management.

Learn the basics of developing a targeted grazing business. Topics will include business management, economic analysis, bidding on contracts, and working with the public. Will include lunch and field visits with active targeted grazing contractors
